Aperitivo and culture
You can “celebrate” the ritual of aperitivo almost everywhere in Milan, … but have you ever considered to “do it” at the theatre? Caffé Letterario is an enchanting and hidden treasure, in the heart of the town center, inside the ancient cloister of Teatro Grassi, just a few steps away from the Castello (on the left) and the Duomo (on the right).
A wonderful “pet friendly” corner, suitable for any occasion (breakfast, lunch, dinner) though we “elect” it for the “apericena”, a new concept mixing and matching aperitivo and dinner (aka “brunch cousin”) or for a “caffé shakerato” break (cold and shaked coffee) in the afternoon during the warm season, when you get the chance of sitting outside in the charming and relaxing cloister. The interiors are very minimalist, with glass and light playing the part of main actors, where past and present “dance” together (we should say DOGether actually), for a very unique and suggestive atmosphere.
Far from the city bustle but just a few steps away from Piazza Affari (the “frantic” financial district of MIlan), you will have the chance of plunging into culture and “pull out the plug”, while having some quality food and drinks. Prices are a bit above average but considering the location, the atmosphere, the impeccable service and the quality, it’s definitely worth spending a few bucks more.
